Dallas, TX — Glamour, philanthropy, and star power lit up the night at the inaugural amfAR Dallas Gala, hosted by actress Teri Hatcher and presented by Nicole Kidman, on Saturday, October 4. Held at the private residence of philanthropists Kathleen and Scott Kirby, the black-tie affair raised an impressive $3.1 million in support of amfAR’s pioneering HIV/AIDS research programs.
Hatcher, serving as emcee, opened the evening with a powerful reminder of amfAR’s legacy: “HIV research benefits all of us,” she told the crowd. “Today, HIV is, for many millions of people, a virus that can be effectively managed with a simple regimen of medication.” She emphasized the importance of amfAR’s four decades of work and the more than 3,800 grants awarded to global research teams.
The night honored two major forces in philanthropy and entertainment. Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki presented the Philanthropic Leadership Award to the Gene and Jerry Jones Family, recognized for their deep community impact and longstanding support of charitable causes.
Then came a particularly heartfelt moment when Nicole Kidman took the stage to present the Award of Inspiration to her friend, filmmaker and "Yellowstone" creator Taylor Sheridan. In his acceptance, Sheridan reminded the audience: “It means nothing if you don’t find a way to give back.” He later surprised guests by donating two auction experiences offering behind-the-scenes access to one of his hit series.
The evening concluded on a legendary note with Diana Ross, who performed a string of timeless hits including “I’m Coming Out,” “Can’t Hurry Love,” and “Stop! In the Name of Love,” bringing the crowd to their feet.

With support from Signature Sponsor REZA and brands like Flecha Azul, Nolet Spirits, PaperCity, Skywalker Vineyards, and Veuve Clicquot, the event marked a powerful debut for amfAR in Dallas; a city that has raised over $65 million for the foundation over the past 25 years.
As Kidman said during her tribute: “amfAR’s research is not just AIDS research. In so many ways, it benefits us all.”
